Don’t you love my clever titles…. ok ok I know they’re lame but I never proclaimed to be creative.

Anyways…. I taught the kids to make snowflakes and then we taped them to the window and covered them in fake snow. It makes a cheap easy and fun decoration. The kids have been making snowflakes all week, I’m so glad they enjoyed the snowflakes… although I can say I won’t be sad when there aren’t little paper triangles everywhere anymore. We even got Joe to make snowflakes with us..  then the stinker outshone us all and made superflakes. The guy had snowmen, Christmas trees and Scrolling curves in his snowflakes… who can do that? It turns out Weylin is pretty talented too he got bells and swords in his snowflakes… my snowflakes weren’t even symmetrical… I shouldn’t admit such things but it’s the truth.

OK so first you find a tutorial to make snowflakes online and start cutting.

You’ll need to really concentrate while cutting… it’s hard work.

Remember to have fun and smile

Don’t forget to make amazing designs in your perfect snowflakes.

Tape your snowflakes to the window.

Spray the snow over the snowflakes and take down the paper snowflakes

Then sit back and admire your work.

We had some other homeschooling friends from church over today for a little Christmas party. We didn’t do anything extravagant or fancy but I think the kids had a good time. I know I enjoyed the company, it’s always nice to have like minded adults around. The kids all got along fantastically which is always nice. Thanks Angie for bringing the cute craft and goody bags and Emily for the frosting and yummy cupcakes!!

Amelia helped me make the sugar cookies this morning.

And another because I think she’s terribly cute and well it’s my blog so there ya go..

Pics from the party

This picture turned out dark but Deucey has a very cute frosting mustache

Amelia was in need of some Mom time so when I asked her what she wanted to do she told me she wanted to sew.
She wanted a new purse… a nice purse.
And a wallet too… because she has money now ya know.

So we set out to make a purse and a wallet… she tended the embroidery machine and changed all the thread. Did all the ironing and any of the sewing she was capable of, which was a fair amount these days. She can sew a straight line now, I was a proud mama.

We won’t even discuss all the things that didn’t go as planned… because really that part doesn’t matter.

Peyton made the decision to be baptized today, I could not be more proud of him.
He has been talking all day about how he is clean and free of sin. He is really excited about it.
Weylin gave a talk and did wonderfully, I was very proud of both the talk he prepared and his flawless presentation of it.
I am so glad Peyton is so happy to jump into this next phase of his life.

Weylin needed several notebooks for his writing and poetry so we decided to make them interesting and unique… which led to everyone wanting to make journals of course ;).

It was a little chaotic at the end of the day but everyone is very happy with their new journals and notebooks which makes it all worthwhile.
I wish I had taken a picture of the insides (because they all have coordinating paper inside) but I’m too tired to go do it now.

Weylin’s Notebooks ( the reason for this whole project, by this point his wasn’t in the mood for his photo to be taken)

Peyton’s Journal ( he want’s you to know he added a Christmas sticker since this picture)

Amelia’s Nature Journal

Audrey’s Journal

Avery’s Journal

And we won’t talk about the mess this made….
